Woot Woot - Wooters Runners is a social running club in Newcastle

Our main goal is to help people find FUN and JOY in running! We are an open and accepting group, with a whole spectrum of runners in the posse - from runner/walkers, to those training for Ultramarathons.

We would love for you to get involved - we have a range of regular runs (that cater for a wide range of fitness levels), but also encourage you to use this group as a forum for organising spontaneous runs - if you are planning on heading out for anything from a slow stroll to a long trail run- why not post it in the Facebook group or Instagram ... You may just find yourself a buddy to join you!!

Register as a Member

Head over to our Membership page to register as a full member, or renew your membership. You can renew up to 60 days prior to your current membership expiring.

Membership is $15/year - kids under 16 are free!
Registering as a member keeps our little club going, and provide extra member benefits too.
Wooterful tip: Select the "Adult - Annual Auto Renew" product when you join or renew to have your membership automatically renewed each year.

Hang out in our Facebook Group

Everything happens in our Facebook Group - so request access to the Group! We post about all the weekly runs, any special events and you can chat with other members about running and to organise group runs. This is the best way to reach us. We usually approve requests to join the Facebook group once a week on Sunday evening.

Hang out on Strava

Many of the Wooters post runs and discussions on Strava - which lets you track your rides and runs via your iPhone, Android or dedicated GPS device to analyze and quantify your performance. Strava makes fitness a social experience, providing motivation and camaraderie even if you’re exercising alone. Join the Wooters Strava Club :)

Wootervals (Wooters intervals session)

Monday evening at 6:30pm. Locations varies between the oval near Nobby's beach most weeks and a hills session (last Monday of the Month). Further details posted weekly in the Facebook group!

Owls & Possums

Happens most weeks on Fridays at 6:00 pm in Glenrock Reserve, starting from Gun Club Rd. Keep an eye on the Facebook posts every Friday for the details and confirmation the run is on. They are for those with a slightly more adventurous taste in runnning- trail runs (usually 7km and 10+ km options) in the dark outside daylight saving times! BYO headlight, and see how much wildlife you can spot!! (10 points if you see an owl!)

parkrun

This is a staple weekly event in the Wooter calendar, with Wooter representatives at most parkruns in the Region of Runners (Newcastle, Australia) each weekend. If you happen to see a fellow Wooter on course, make sure to Woot out to them!! The highest density of Wooters can usually be found at Newy parkrun- and of course, there is always a post-parkrun coffee to be enjoyed afterwards! Additionally, there are regular Wooter RoR tourism weekends- to make sure that we get to see all that this beautiful region has to offer!!

Social Runs

These are organised on an ad-hoc basis - look out for details on our Facebook page! These runs are a great opportunity to meet other Wooters, and get your fill of Wooter Spirit!! Obviously, afterwards we need to reward all our hard work- so there is always some form of shared meal/refreshments

Wooters Watagans Not-a-Race

The Wooters Watagans Not-a-Race emulates race conditions in an event just a few short weeks out from the UTA each year. It's a good time for people to get out for their longest run, as well as test out gear and nutrition plans. The aim is to have everyone around to enjoy training together. Come along to run, volunteer, cheer or just hang out!

Wooter Ball

The top-rated event of the Australian running calendar! The annual Wooter Ball is a great way to round out another season of running. Dust off your suits, find your favourite dresses and reserve your spot at the best party all year!

The ticket price includes entry, and catered finger food. It's always an awesome night of socialising, eating, drinking and dancing with all your favourite members of the wootpack!

Six Pack Dash

6 Pubs, 6 Beers, not too many km - The annual run in December celebrates the year that was, in the best way Wooters know how.

Come and join your fellow Wooters for a run around Newcastle's best watering holes, 6 great venues and the superb company of the friendliest, most social running group there is.

The evening ends at a venue with great food and atmosphere that will have you partying your running socks off!
